What happens to your email address

This is a one-person shop selling one synthesizer. An account needs only an email address and a password, and everything they are used for is listed below. No marketing email is ever sent, and no address is ever sold.

What is stored

This is the whole list. You don't need to give your name, postal address, phone number or date of birth to buy or use the plugin.

  • Your email address and password. The password is stored only as a hash, never as the characters you typed. If you register a passkey, its public key is stored.
  • Purchase and license records: the amount, currency and status of each order, and the license key issued for it. Card numbers never pass through this site; Stripe receives them directly. If you pay with PayPal, PayPal handles your account and payment details; this site does not store them.
  • Activated devices: a device name, a platform, and a hash derived from the machine's configuration. This is used only to enforce the three-device limit.
  • Survey answers (optional): what license holders answer on the account page, plus a display name and icon image. The icon is scaled down and stored without location data or other metadata.
  • Traffic counts: a daily tally by page and by referring host. No per-visitor record is created, no identifier is assigned, and no analytics cookie is used. Only the referring host is stored, not the full URL, so search terms and private page paths are not kept.
  • Short-lived abuse data: to stop password guessing and bulk sign-ups, an IP address is held as a rate-limit marker for at most one hour. It expires automatically and is never tied to an account.

What it is used for

It is used only for the following.

  • Creating your account and confirming the address exists.
  • Resetting your password.
  • Checkout, issuing your license, managing your three devices, and serving the installers.
  • Setting prices and improving the product, using survey answers in aggregate.
  • Quoting reviews: only the review, display name and icon typed into the survey's "Review I may share" box may appear on this site or in announcements. Email addresses and purchase records are never published.
  • Replying to questions and bug reports.
  • Seeing where visitors leave the site, using counts that identify no one.

What is never done

This is more than a policy: the site has no mechanism to do any of these.

  • Your email address, or anything else personal, is never sold or rented.
  • No marketing email, no newsletter. The only mail sent from here is verification, password reset, and replies about a purchase or a question.
  • Nothing is shared with third parties for advertising or behavioral targeting. No analytics service or ad tag is loaded on this site.

Outside services

The shop runs on these services. Each handles data only as far as the purposes above require, and for nothing else. Several are US companies, so data is processed outside Japan.

  • Cloudflare (US): hosting, database and file storage. Account details and purchase records are stored here. Survey answers and icon images are stored here too.
  • Resend (US): sending verification and password-reset email. It receives the destination address.
  • Stripe (US, Japan): payments. It receives your email address and payment details at checkout. Card data is handled by Stripe and never reaches this site.
  • PayPal: payments, only if you choose it. At checkout it receives the order amount and an internal account ID; your email address is not sent. Your PayPal account and payment details are handled by PayPal; this site does not store them.
  • Google (Gmail): receiving support email. Mail to support@imfm-synth.com / satodeyannsu@gmail.com arrives in Gmail and goes through Gmail's standard spam filtering. Message bodies are not sent to any AI service.
  • Google Fonts (US): the typefaces. Opening a page makes your browser connect to Google's servers, which gives Google your IP address and browser details.
  • YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com): the walkthrough video. The thumbnail is served by this site; your browser only connects to YouTube if you press play.

Update check in the app

So that you can be told when a newer version is released, the plugin fetches this site’s public release information (the latest version number and its changes) about once a day. Only the network information that accompanies any request (such as the IP address) is sent — never your account, license or the version you run. The site does not record it in its database or count it. You can turn this automatic check off in Settings, and check by hand instead.

How long it is kept

Account details, purchase records and licenses are kept while the account exists and for as long as the law requires (generally seven years for transaction records). A login session lasts 30 days, a verification link 24 hours, and a password-reset link one hour. Traffic counts are daily totals, so nothing in them leads back to a person. To delete your account, write to support@imfm-synth.com / satodeyannsu@gmail.com. Everything is erased except the transaction records the law requires to be kept. Survey answers and icons are kept until you delete them on the account page or your account is deleted.

Cookies

Three cookies, all first-party: your login session, the language you picked, and the password gate on the test deployment. There is no advertising or tracking cookie, and the traffic counts use no cookie at all.

Who runs this

This shop is run by Kaito Sato, who is responsible for how personal data is handled here. Write to support@imfm-synth.com / satodeyannsu@gmail.com. A postal address is disclosed promptly on request. The commercial terms are set out in the legal notice.

Changes

When this policy changes, this page, the date above and the revision history below are updated, and earlier text stays readable through the switch above. If a change would widen how already-collected data is used, it will be announced on this site.
