While IMFMSynth has been available for ¥3,000 / $19 during the beta promotion, I have received feedback on KVR Audio from people who seem very knowledgeable. I am grateful for all the useful feature suggestions. In particular, tobiasiv's suggestions were all things I would like to have myself, and I have decided to officially adopt some of them.
Fixes
Clipping / headroom
- Improve gain management.
Improved modulation display in CLAP
- Follow the specification more closely.
Fix bugs when editing the matrix directly
Fix Undo/Redo bugs
- There have been reports that Undo/Redo does not work in some DAWs.
New Features
Global output
- Add an Output knob at the final output stage that allows gain above 0 dB.
Fixed-frequency mode
Global FM amount knob
- Scale the entire FM modulation matrix by a single value, which can itself be modulated.
Adjustable 8-bit effect amount
Reorderable effects
Manual language selection
Preset navigation
- Add controls such as Previous / Next.
What do you think? I suspect many of these will make you say, "Yes, that's exactly what I wanted!" I was impressed by the insight behind such useful suggestions.
Some suggestions from the original thread are not listed here. That does not mean I have ruled them out entirely. I need to check how well they fit the UI/UX before I can commit to them at this stage. If testing shows that they would be useful, I intend to adopt them.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at KVR Audio. Thank you.
I will continue updating IMFMSynth based on your feedback, including the suggestions from the KVR Audio community.
