On September 9, 2026, the official Dubspot blog published a feature on IMFMSynth. I did not commission the article; it appears that Dubspot took the initiative to research it independently. I discovered it after finishing my day job, and I am honored.
The article is detailed and thoughtful, covering aspects of IMFMSynth that you would need to try for yourself to understand, beyond what is explained on this official website. In particular, it carefully discusses the caveats when importing DX7 presets and the behavior of the browser demo. It was an excellent article based on human verification, rather than a carelessly automated AI post. (Please do not misunderstand me: using AI is not inherently bad. IMFMSynth uses AI too. What matters is taking responsibility.) I was so pleased that I sent them an email. They replied with kind words and graciously gave me permission to feature their article on the official IMFMSynth website, which is why I am writing this post.
I intend to keep improving IMFMSynth through updates, building on the features covered in Dubspot's article.
AI has made it possible for anyone to create a plugin, but the quality of the AI-built plugins flooding the market is not always high. In this environment, I believe three things matter:
- Developers should make their contact information public and take responsibility for their work.
- Rather than settling for generic AI output from vague instructions, developers should persist in putting their vision into words and turning it into a product.
- Support must continue, and legal obligations must be met. A product should not simply be released and abandoned.
I, Kaito Sato, will continue developing IMFMSynth, incorporating feedback from communities such as KVR Audio as well as the observations shared in reviews like this one.
Remarkably, only about a week after sales began, multiple customers from each of five countries have already purchased IMFMSynth. I am deeply grateful that people around the world have placed their trust in me as an independent developer, across language barriers and the distance of the internet.
